PARADISE LOST

Synopsis: The once placid rain forest of Central America is being disemboweled to make room for “civilization”. State-of-the science defoliants, thought to be environment-friendly are sprayed for miles around the serene village of Ponce, targeted as the site of Stark Industries’ soon-to-be constructed “Byzantium – City of Tomorrow”.

DR. CHRISTINE DUMAURIER (Marina Sirtis) will do whatever is necessary to prevent the cataclysm she knows will inexorably follow the devastation of the rain forest. When a child is born with birth defects and a native laborer is mysteriously killed, only MIKE STARK’S (William Forsythe) irresistible will can hold together a billion dollar construction project bursting at the seams. The story goes from the serene atmosphere of “Emerald Forest” into the menacing realm of “China Syndrome”.
